The PS program primarily focuses on cultivating professionals who boldly face various social issues, produce practical knowledge that leads to solutions, and who will become leaders of society.

Many of today's social issues are complex and intertwined with various factors which cannot be solved by conventional sectoral policies or single sectors such as businesses and government. For example, in communities where the aging and declining population has posed serious challenges, once mutual support systems based on local kinship have become dysfunctional, as the financial situations of local governments have become dire due to the declining population. In such an environment, the design of sustainable and effective social systems, along with the flexible operation of institutions, services, etc. are being sought to realize people's well-being.

The members of this program aspire to go beyond mere analysis to take a solution-oriented approach, making full use of various knowledge across multiple disciplines through fieldwork, and occasionally, action research to confront problems, searching for concrete measures that will lead to solutions from various angles. The keyword "innovation" implies the creation of previously unknown values, and change through the combination of various elements, such as social and economic systems, as well as technologies.

With the rapid development of ICT, our current world has become more connected, resulting in an increase in diversity and complexity. Along with local solutions, a global perspective as well as social and cultural perspectives, accompanied by economic and technological factors are expected to be required in the future.

To those who aspire to become social leaders and innovators, let us work together to create synergies between research, education, and project implementation, and start a wave of positivity that spreads from SFC, reaching the world.

Possibilities after Graduation

The Program directs the creative energy of students in solving social/ individual issues and helps them to develop skills to operate new resources such as IT systems, and also promotes human resources who begin venture entrepreneurship. The employment opportunities for graduates are diverse ranging from international organizations, developmental consulting firms, national civil services, regional governments, and private think tanks, to venture capitals, investment advisory groups, banking facilities, journalisms, educational circles, human resource development businesses, career support businesses, and entrepreneurs.
